Converting your OpenSim island into COLLADA

Tipodean Technologies is pleased to announce the launch of a service that can convert your OpenSim islands to COLLADA to run directly in Unity3d. With OpenSim content converted and imported into Unity3D, it can then be run within a Web site, Android/IOS, or as a stand-alone executable to increase your deployment options. You are also able to run the content as single player, MMO or Peer-to-Peer multiplayer, allowing for massive scalability options.  Examples can be seen here. Unity3D already has very wide adoption with 67 million web player installs.

Tipodean has also formed a strategic partnership with Jon Brouchoud, the award winning content producer. Jon brings his unique blend of professional architecture and 3D content production on all the conversions making your content really stand out. Combined, Tipodean and Brouchoud can take your OpenSim content into Unity3d and provide you with technical assistance, training, or custom content creation to support your rollout.

OpenSim content leveraged into Unity3D gives the organization a great combined solution. “Having worked with both OpenSim and Unity3D, there are clearly advantages to both platforms.  Being able to convert content created in OpenSim directly into Unity3D is a huge time-saver, and a great way to enjoy the best of both worlds.” said Chris Collins CEO of Tipodean.

“Over the past 2 years, I’ve seen a rapid increase in the number of clients requesting Unity3D builds.  Yet, most are reluctant to abandon the assets they’ve already developed in OpenSim, and still want to enjoy the many benefits of working in that platform.  Now they can enjoy the best of both worlds, by converting OpenSim content into a Unity3D environment.”  said Jon Brouchoud.

This conversion service is just one of the many Unity3d services that Tipodean can offer your organization.  Other tools and services provided by Tipodean include the Web Viewer of OpenSim and Second Life (BuiltBuy.me), custom content creation, technical training and strategy for OpenSim and Unity3D.

The conversion service is available now and you can find out more about the service and pricing here .
